In October 2014, the MC-Tanzania team received accreditation by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) to provide IT/computer courses at the Songea Center. MC-Tanzania’s accreditation will give students in Songea the opportunity to receive government official certificates which may be used to learn and increase new skills, obtain a job or start their own business.

In November 2015, MCW-Tanzania Country Director Abdu Mohamed graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Arusha. Abdu was the first recipient of the Dr. George Sideris Memorial Scholarship Fund and is the first MCW community leaders to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree.
