About the Program

What is it?

The Global Ambassador Program is an opportunity open to all mentor graduates of the Young Leaders Programs (Young Leaders Fellowship and/or Young Leaders Conference) and interns of the Community Leaders in Africa Internship Program.

This Program offers the alumni a unique opportunity to become Global Ambassadors who will serve as representatives of MCW Global on a global scale, undertaking initiatives that raise awareness about the organization’s mission and impact.

What We Offer?

As a Global Ambassador, you’ll be part of a dynamic community that provides opportunities for personal and professional growth. We offer guidance, training, and resources to support your efforts to give back to MCW and your community. 

You’ll have the chance to create impactful initiatives, inspire others in your community, and promote the MCW Global and MCW Affiliates work through community leadership, local initiatives, presentations, partnership creation, and networking events.

Eligibility Requirements

Am I Eligible?

A Global Ambassador Must:

  • Have completed one year of mentorship for the Young Leaders Fellowship or Young Leaders Conference. And/Or
  • Have completed the Community Leaders in Africa Internship Program.
  • Demonstrate commitment to your community.
  • Have creative information sessions/events in mind and have the passion to advocate for the leadership programs of MCW.
  • Access to email or other Internet platforms for ongoing and direct communication with the MCW Global team for the duration of the program.
  • Submit your completed application on or before November 3, 2024, at 11:59 PM (EST / NY time).

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Passionate about MCW Global’s mission and making a positive global impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to create and manage local activities/events.
  • Ability to create and coordinate a yearly work plan. 
  • Strong leadership skills and a willingness to inspire others.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Most importantly, an Ambassador is a self-motivated and proactive young leader, leveraging their role to propose new initiatives, make connections, and create opportunities for their peers and community.

Timeline

Stay on Track

  • October 9, 2024 – The application process opens;
  • November 3, 2024 – Application deadline – applications must be received by 11:59 PM (EST / NY time);
  • November 22, 2024 – Selected ambassadors are contacted and announced;
  • December 6, 2024 – Kick-off Training (virtual).
  • December 2024 – September 2025 – The entire duration of the program (flexible deadlines and deliverables that will be co-designed).
