Jules Dukuze, ICT Instructor at MC-Rwanda, shares his journey with the organization and what continues to inspire him nearly three years into his role.
Before joining the MC-Rwanda team in 2022, Jules worked in the general education system under a national curriculum, where his primary focus was preparing students for national exams and university entry.
But something changed when he joined MC-Rwanda.
“After joining MC-Rwanda, I was introduced to a system that focuses on skill development programs for vulnerable people in our communities, including people with disability, out-of-school youth, and teen mothers. At that time, I realized that it was where I belonged. What motivated me more was the youth empowerment and the support, guidance, coaching, and making them leaders who can lead their communities.”
Although Jules brought experience from the education sector, MC-Rwanda introduced him to something deeper- leadership development.
“Exposure to leadership sessions, trainings, and seminars sparked a new passion.”
“This boosted my ambition and spirit about leadership. This gave me the confidence to go beyond teaching technology and start empowering trainees about being good leaders and how to make change in their community. I was so happy to see how I inspired my trainees regarding leadership and change.”
MCW Global- Instrumental in Shaping Growth
The mission and values of MCW Global, especially its commitment to empowering youth and communities through education, leadership, and sustainable initiatives, deeply resonate with him.
“During my engagement with MCW Global, I found myself fit in the program and had the opportunity to lead the site, to find the vulnerable youth from our community, teach them technology, guide them, inspire them, and help them to make a better change in their lives.”
Today, as the organization celebrates 25 years, Jules sees his journey with MCW Global as instrumental not only in the growth of his students but also in his own personal and professional development.
“I honed my leadership skills through online sessions and training. This gave me an aspect of being a good leader, expanded my global perspective, and developed in me a confidence that I can make a great impact locally through global partnerships.”
