New York, NY, October 3, 2025 – MCW Global awarded the third cohort of the Abraham Magid Educational Scholarship Program (AME) to alumni of the MCW Global Young Leaders Fellowship Program who are furthering their educational journeys and are passionate about their communities.
While the scholarship provides financial support for academic pursuits, its broader aim is to empower young leaders who are actively engaged in their communities through projects and different community initiatives.
This round of the AME supported three MCW Global alumni: Florencia Peñaflor Paran (Peru), Kaja Posnik (Poland), and Mauren Martinez (Colombia), bringing the total number of recipients to nine.
Established by Richard Magid, a longtime friend and supporter of MCW Global’s work and mission, and the President of Soundboard Consulting Group, LLC, the scholarship supports the recipients’ bachelor’s and master’s tuition fees.
“Through this scholarship, I am strengthening my ability to design and deliver projects that are both efficient and purpose-driven. This diploma provides a strong foundation in project design within a context where the country urgently needs professionals who prioritize sustainable, long-term impact,” says Florencia, who is pursuing a Diploma in Project Management at the CENTRUM PUCP Graduate Business School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
Further, Kaja, who’s pursuing her MSc in Psychology of the Arts, Neuroaesthetics and Creativity at Goldsmiths, University of London, among others, shares how she will be using this scholarship opportunity to bridge the gap between artistic expression and scientific research.
“The support of the Abraham Magid Scholarship allowed me to pursue interdisciplinary studies in Psychology of the Arts, Neuroaesthetics and Creativity, the first postgraduate course of such kind in the world and one through which I deepened my interests, gained incredible and pioneering insight from the field, and developed passions for acting and neuroscience even further. I am grateful to Richard Magid and MCW Global for the opportunity and for believing in my vision.”
While Mauren’s admission process is underway, she shares the importance of her specialization in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.

MCW Global launched the Abraham Magid Educational Scholarship (AME) Program in 2024, providing alumni of the Young Leaders Fellowship Program with the opportunity to further their academic pursuits while continuing to benefit from MCW Global’s support as they further their leadership journeys, community projects, and educational goals.

The AME Scholarship was created by Richard Magid, a longtime friend and supporter of MCW’s work and mission. When Richard’s dad, Abraham Magid, passed away in February 2015, it was after a long journey of health issues that he fought hard to overcome. Richard’s dad was always a fighter and optimistic person who saw challenges as opportunities. He used to say that there are no problems, only solutions. Richard always took that to mean that, instead of focusing on issues as they arise, you should focus on what you will do to move forward. While the AME scholarship is meant to support the alum’s academic pursuits financially, it aims to support young leaders who are actively involved in their communities through their projects or other community initiatives.
