MCW Global Welcomes New Country Manager
of MC-Rwanda
NEW YORK, NY, September 27, 2018 – MCW Global is pleased to announce the appointment of Stéphane Nyembo as country manager of MC-Rwanda.
“We are excited to welcome Stephane as our new country manager in Rwanda. Stéphane will work closely with the MC-R Board of Directors and the MCW Global Director of Africa Programs to oversee the management and growth of programming in the country,” said Khalid Elachi, MCW’s interim Executive Director. “In particular, he will support and advance the important work of the MC-R community center in Kayenzi.”
Stéphane joins MC-Rwanda with a strong desire to contribute to the fulfillment of MCW’s mission to transform communities by empowering youth to be future leaders. Born in Belgium and raised in in the Democratic Republic of Congo and then Rwanda, Stéphane speaks Kinyarwanda, Swahili, French, and English. He studied computer science studies during his undergraduate degree and has a masters of arts in corporate communications. For almost a decade, Stéphane has been engaged in the education sector, championing quality education in disadvantaged schools and focusing on ICT, communications, and educational advocacy.
Stéphane has a passion for leadership, especially when it comes to youth. He believes that all children deserve quality education, regardless of their social-economic background. He also believes that the purpose of education is to empower people to help them tap into their own potential.
