Dorine Focus, Program Officer at MC-Tanzania shares what first drew her to MC-Tanzania and MCW Global and what continues to inspire her involvement after three years with the organization.
She reflects on her transformative journey with MC-Tanzania, a story of professional growth, meaningful connections, and shared commitment to community change.
“One aspect that drives my commitment to MCW Global is the organization’s capacity to facilitate my professional growth. Through opportunities for skill development in areas such as work proficiency, planning, self-discipline, time management, and technological acumen, I have undergone a significant personal transformation since joining.” she shares initially.
Reflecting on Growth, Connection, and Community Impact
To her, the impact extends beyond professional skills. Being part of the MCW community has opened doors to relationships that transcend borders and roles.
“Through my association with MCW Global, I have been able to meet with new networks that I have never anticipated encountering. These newfound connections have evolved into friendships and personal supporters, enriching my life in unexpected ways.”
Looking ahead, especially as MCW Global marks its 25th anniversary, Dorine’s hopes are rooted in continued growth- not just for herself, but for the organization and its wider community, beneficiaries, and supporters in Tanzania.
“Twenty-five years is a huge milestone. My wish is to see MCW Global continually expanding its reach and enriching the lives of individuals within our community, fostering positive change with each passing day.”
In 2023, Dorine took the lead in the Community Health Fellowship Program (CHF), a partnership program between MCW Global, MC-Tanzania, SKYGEN International Inc, and the Foundation For Preventive Health (FPH). She’s based in the Arusha region and plays a vital role in the successful coordination of the program’s milestones.
