In May 2024, MC-Zambia officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kafue District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) at Kasenje Resource Centre in Kafue.
This important partnership signifies the MC-Zambia commitment to working hand in hand with the Kafue DEBS to promote quality education and foster the holistic development of their learners.
MC- Zambia and DEBS have been cooperating since 2021, implementing improved computer literacy, literacy, and numeracy and now Oral Health Projects in schools based in the Chikupi zone. Due to the strengthened collaboration and partnership, they gradually increased the number of schools they are supporting from 7 to 10.
MC- Zambia Country Manager, Muule M. Moonga and the DEBS Secretary, Berlina G. J. Moono signed the MOU, while the signing ceremony was witnessed by Maybin Loloma, Acting Program Manager of MC- Zambia, and Herbert S. Siakanga, District Education Standard Officer (DESO).
Berlina emphasized the significance of this event, highlighting its role in providing vital support to the schools within their jurisdiction.
Although both teams built a cordial relationship for over three years, this MoU officially states the obligations and responsibilities of the parties and determines the modalities of where this agreement is based. Through this formalized collaboration, they will continue to implement a range of initiatives to support the ICT training of teachers, improve ICT learning outcomes, and provide essential resources to schools such as computers, tablets, ICT labs, and textbooks in Chikupi Zone.
“By leveraging our respective strengths and resources, we aim to contribute to conducive learning environments where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.” says Maybin Loloma, Acting Program Manager, MC- Zambia.
He concludes “We remain committed to being considered a well-established partner contributing to the improvement of education outcomes in the Kafue District of Zambia and we look forward to making even more positive impacts in the lives of learners and shaping a brighter future for our communities.”
